Green Fox as a not for profit organisation, aims to initiate projects that will be able to generate surplus funds for the local community. This in turn ensures the financial benefits from the projects are felt more widely in the local community. Community benefit funds aim to support environmental good causes, especially when there is a tangible reduction in carbon emissions.
Currently Green Fox have two projects that are actively providing community benefit funds in Leicestershire.
- John Cleveland College Community Woodheat Co-operative provides low carbon heating and electricity for Hinckley Academy and generates an annual community benefit fund. To date funds have been distributed to support LED lighting at Barwell Infants School and Westfield Infant School both of which are in close proximity to Hinckley Academy.
- Thorton Lane Solar Farm which is owned by CTF Solar provides enough electricity to power up to 800 homes. In addition an annual community benefit fund is generated through the project to support environmental projects in and around Stanton under Bardon.
